Accreditation

According to the International Council of Classical Homeopathy (ICCH), the Syndicat professionnel des homéopathes du Québec (SPHQ - the official association representing the ICCH in the province of Quebec) and the European Council of Classical Homeopathy (ECCH), effective education in homeopathic practice takes a minimum of three to four years of full time study at a diploma or degree level. These associations, particularly the SPHQ, emphasize the need for face-to-face experience, classroom and independent study, and personal supervision in the form of apprenticeship.

The homeopathic training at MICH meets and surpasses the requirements of the associations licensed to provide professional homeopathic accreditation internationally.

MICH is recognized for the quality of its education by the following accrediting and validating organizations:

The MICH program and school has been examined and validated by Le Societé de formation et d’éducation continue (SOFEDUC). Hours of study at MICH are eligible for Continuing Education university or college credits.

In the province of Quebec:

The MICH program meets the educational guidelines set by the Syndicat professionnel des homéopathes du Québec (SPHQ), the official professional association for homeopaths in the province of Quebec. MICH is also a member of the SPHQ. Students wanting to practice in the province of Quebec are strongly encouraged to apply for membership with the SPHQ as soon as they begin their program. Graduates from the MICH program are automatically accepted into professional membership. MICH graduates who are practicing members of the SPHQ receive the title D.Hom.

In Canada:

MICH is a recognized member of The National United Professional Association of Trained Homeopaths (NUPATH), a prestigious professional association based in Ontario and the largest and oldest national professional association for homeopaths in Canada. Graduates from the MICH program are automatically accepted into professional membership. MICH Graduates who are practicing members of NUPATH will receive the title D.Hom. Practitioner Members (Active Members) of NUPATH, having met or exceeded the standards set for homeopathic education and training, are entitled to use the designation HD(RHom.) and to refer to themselves as a Doctor of Homeopathic Medicine.

In the United States:

Students wanting to practice in the United States after graduation are encouraged to apply to the Council for Homeopathic Certification (CHC). The homeopathic training offered by MICH meets and surpasses CHC standards. After graduation, MICH students can submit their cases and complete the CHC exams here in Montreal. Members practicing in the United States and passing the criteria set by the CHC receive the designation CHC after their name.

In North America:

Once accepted to the CHC, graduates can then apply to the North American Society of Homeopaths (NASH) for professional membership. MICH is a member and supporter of NASH, and the MICH program is recognized by NASH.

In Europe:

The MICH program is recognized by The European Council of Classical Homeopathy (ECCH), where MICH faculty participated in revising the international educational standards for homeopathy in 2010. MICH graduates who are members of the SPHQ are also practicing members of ECCH.
